What is a Bed and Breakfast in Italy?
A Bed and Breakfast in Italy, often referred to as a B&B, is a lodging typically operated out of a large single family residence where guests can be accommodated at night in private bedrooms and where breakfast is served in the morning. It can be said that in our B&B one has the standard of a three star Hotel at the price of a one star Hotel!
Where do we find you in Venice?
Venice City is divided in three different areas: the Historic Centre, the smaller islands of the lagoon and the mainland districts. The Bed and Breakfast "Al Giardino" is located in one of the districts of the mainland (Venice – Favaro) and it is very near to the historic centre of Venice and to Mestre downtown. You can enjoy the vicinity of the old city avoiding high costs and unnecessary difficulties. In fact, you cannot visit the Historic centre of Venice by car, you can visit it only on foot or with the local water transport service.

The price is per room.
Is breakfast included in the price and in what it consists of?
Yes, the breakfast is included in the price and you can choose between coffee, cappuccino, milk, bread, butter, cream, the, tisanes, fruit juices, yoghurt, biscuits, cereals, croissants, cakes, bread, a variety of jams and "nutella"!
Do you have time restrictions for arrival and departure?
Normally it is possible to check in after 12.00PM, however we accept arrival also between 8.00AM and 12.00PM when you can leave your luggage and collect your keys. The check out is by 10.30AM
How many floors does the B&B have?
The B&B is a two storey villa with private garden.
The rooms are quiet, intimate and romantic?
Yes, the rooms are quiet, intimate and romantic. Every room is equipped with double glazing windows ensuring a quiet and relaxing stay. They all have private bathroom, television and are completely furnished. The frescoed ceilings and the furnisher are blue. All the rooms face south hence are optimally illuminated.
Are bed linen and towels supplied or must we bring them with us?
Included in the price we supply a complete new set of bed linen per room and bath towels that are replaced twice a week.
Are the rooms no smoking?
All the rooms are no smoking: it is possible to smoke under the gazebo in the garden.
Is there a TV in the room?
Yes, all the rooms have TV.
Is there a telephone in the room?
No, there isn’t a telephone in the room.
Do the rooms have air conditioning?
Yes, every room is equipped with independent air conditioning included in the price.
Do you have an Internet - email point in the B&B?
Not, but if you have necessity to use the internet or to check your mail you can use the computer in the office.
The owners of B&B live within the premise?
Yes, but they live in a different apartment with own entrance independent from that of the guests.
Can we come and go as we please?
Together with the key of the room we supply also the keys for the entrance of the B&B allowing you to be totally independent.
Until what time do you serve breakfast?
The breakfast is served between 08.00am and 09.30am.
Is there an available parking?
Yes, and it is included in the price. The parking is wide enough to accommodate also big cars.
Where is the nearest bus stop?
The nearest bus stop is only few meters away from our B&B. Both for buses going into Venice that for the one returning.
How easy is to reach the Historical Center of Venice from your B&B?
Very easy. You can take bus n.19, 15, 4 or 84 from the public ACTV bus service (with line number 19, the journey lasts 15 minutes). The buses will take you as far as Piazzale Roma – Venice bus terminal.
How late do the buses run from Venice to the B&B?
The last bus n. 4 returning to the B&B leaves the Historical Center - Piazzale Roma at 01.00AM.
Where do we buy tickets for the bus?
In Venice the one way tickets for buses are sold in tobacco shops and in newsagents. Other than one way tickets you can buy time tickets for the land bus service and the water bus service. The company running the public transport in Venice island and mainland is called ACTV. It is possible to buy the VeniceCard that, other than transports, includes also the access to museums, use of public toilettes and the entry to the casinos of the city.

The Station of Venice - Santa Lucia: go to Piazzale Roma and take either bus n. 19, 84 or 4 and get off at the 3rd stop of Via Altinia in Venice - Favaro district: the Bed and Breakfast “Al Giardino” is just in front of the bus stop (the journey lasts approx. 15 minutes).
How do we arrive at the B&B from the Port of Venice (Venice Passenger Terminal)?
From the Port of Venice (Venice Passenger Terminal), go to Piazzale Roma and take either bus n. 19, 84 or 4 and get off at the 3rd stop of Via Altinia in Venice - Favaro district: our Bed and Breakfast “Al Giardino” is just in front of the bus stop (the journey lasts approx. 15 minutes).
How do we arrive at the B&B from Venice - Mestre Railway Station?
From Venice - Mestre Railway Station you can take bus n. 15 and get off in Piazza Pastrello in Venice - Favaro district, then change bus taking either n. 19, 84 or 4 and get off at the 2nd stop of Via Altinia: our Bed and Breakfast “Al Giardino” is just in front of the bus stop (the journey lasts approx. 20 minutes).
How do we arrive at the B&B by car?
From the motorway take Mestre Tangenziale (no-toll motorways) exit "Terraglio" and then follow direction to Venezia. Turn left at the 2nd traffic light (Venice - Favaro direction) and when you reach Piazza Pastrello, turn left in Via Altinia. Drive down for another 500 meters and you will find our bed and breakfast right in front of a petrol station (the journey lasts approx. 10 minutes).
How do we arrive at the B&B from Venice - Marco Polo Airport?
From Venice - Marco Polo International Airport take bus n. 15, get off in Piazza Pastrello in Venice - Favaro district, then change bus and take either n. 19, 84 or 4 and get off at the 2nd stop of Via Altinia: our Bed and Breakfast “Al Giardino” is just in front of the bus stop (the journey lasts approx. 10 minutes).
How do we arrive at the B&B from Venice - Treviso Airport?
From Venice - Treviso Airport take shuttle "Eurobus Service ATVO" direction Venice. When you arrive at the Historic Centre of Venice (Piazzale Roma) take either bus n. 19, 84 or 4 and get off at the 3rd stop of Via Altinia in Favaro district: our Bed and Breakfast “Al Giardino” is just in front of the bus stop (the journey lasts approx. 15 minutes).
Is there a restaurant in the property?
No, but there are many good restaurants, trattorie and pizzerias in the vicinity.
How can we reserve?
In agreement with the Italian Civil Laws, the Regulations of the IAH (International Association of Hotel) and of the FIAVET (International Federation of Travel Agents), a reservation is considered valid with the payment of a deposit called "caparra confirmatoria". The payment of the deposit “caparra confirmatoria” can be carried out through the authorization of the payment of the first night by credit card or by the payment of 50% of the total amount of your stay by postal order.
